JANUARY 2027 · LIMITED TO 5 COACHING PLACES
JG Fitness · Heywood

Personal training in Heywood.
Your pace.

If you are looking for personal training in Heywood, start by sharing what you would like to work towards. That could be feeling stronger, building a routine, getting moving again or finding a calmer way into fitness.

JG Fitness is beginner-friendly. The January 2027 coaching intake is limited to five places, and the free waiting list does not reserve a place.

Saving an enquiry is not payment and does not confirm a coaching place.

A useful first conversation

Start with where you are.

Coaching with James

Your goals. Your plan.

Tell James a little about you.

Just a conversation. No payment or newsletter signup.

There is no requirement to arrive already fit. The current JG Fitness approach is built around a realistic starting point, your routine and the kind of progress you want to feel in everyday life.

Choose “Everyday fitness” or “Not sure yet” in the form. James can then confirm whether the January coaching offer is a fit and talk through the next step before you commit.

Your starting point is enough.

What to include in your enquiry

  • What you would like to feel more confident doing.
  • Whether you are new to exercise or returning after time away.
  • Anything that affects how you need to begin, so the first conversation can be realistic.
Not sure what to write? A couple of lines is plenty. After you send the form, James emails you a few short questions about your goals and your week.

Questions before you enquire

How much does personal training with JG Fitness cost?

£20 an hour. You can join the waiting list for free, or pay a £49 deposit, which comes off your total. Your start date and terms are agreed with James before you commit.

Where do the sessions happen?

At a local gym, outdoors in parks around Heywood, or wherever suits you. Sessions are face to face, with online sessions too if that suits you better.

I’m completely new to exercise. Can I still start?

Yes. JG Fitness is built for beginners and people coming back after time away. You don’t need to be fit to begin: walking breaks count, and small steps count too.

How do the sessions work?

One-hour sessions, booked as often as suits you. Before you start, James emails you a few short questions about your goals and your week, including how many days you can train (1–2, 3, or 4 or more), so the plan fits around your routine.

Who will be coaching me?

James Gonzo. He’s a British Army veteran who has been running for more than 30 years, with a full Ironman, three half Ironmans and three 50 km ultras behind him. You can read more about James and follow his own training.

When does it start, and how many places are there?

Coaching starts in January 2027. James is coaching a maximum of five people in total, so places are limited.

Does sending the form book a place?

No. Sending the form or joining the waiting list doesn’t take a payment or book a place. James confirms your start date and terms with you before you commit.
